Battery drain on 2008 gt tdi after RNS 510 installed.
« on: April 11, 2012, 06:56:43 pm »
Hi, Just purchased  a RNS 510 and iv noticed that i have Battery drain. ( The player has black screen  and runs when off )    Iv been recommended from Edition38.com that there is a guy called EDDIE-NL which could solve the problem.
Any help would be much appreciated

                   Many thanks Craig

You really need to find out what version gateway you have installed, something you can do with a vcds scan.

If it needs updating then you can get an updated one from Eddie.

vcds is the new name for vag-com.
And yes, do a scan and post the CAN Gateway (address 19) details.

It's the software that causes the drain. From whet I've gathered it doesn't get the signal from the gateway to turn off
