It was around £700 for the front bumper, shirts and rear bumper. He fitted everything and lined it all up (my xparts front bumper needed a little playing around with to get it perfect).  Also they smoothed them all too as I didn't want the texture finish.  This included a few parts to fit the skirts as well.

Don't forget I had to get the whole front bumper done.  It was £75 to get my spoiler painted and fitted.

He is not the cheapest for paintwork but he is the best and I have used him for 15+ years.  He's in Penge too!!

where in Penge mate, whats the place called?

No, it's him, his son and a few other guys, they have about five workshops on site and a spray room.

I don't think he has a website yet but there are some details here - http://www.autoinsider.co.uk/local/garage-services/ai_6317.php

Just had a look on google and you can see the place but it has lots of trees hiding most of it

Back to the OP!

IMVHO This really is a no brainer. the MK5 Golf GTI should have come out the factory colour coded.

If you don't like it  :P the lower back bumper costs around £50-£60 direct from the stealers so you can always revert back to the original look, but i know for sure that would not happen as it would look a million times better coded.  :happy2:

I think VW's excuse for not colour coding it was that it was a styling hark back to the mk1 GTI. We however all know it was just a penny pinching exercise! Fockers.

Cheers for all the replys, your thoughts have been takin into account, i think i cud have decided.
Alow maybe i havent :signLOL:

If i was to paint the black parts & leave the lower centre section black as it deffently does break it up and give an overall better look.

What would be involved in me prepin the black plastic for painting?
To try and save some of the painters time & my Monies... I have other bits needing painting so it all adds up !

would it be worth it?

If it's not broke, Mod it.....

The standard bumper valance has a  raised texture effect witch needs flatting,,, making it a little smother before the plastic primer is used.
