Headlight question
« on: April 16, 2012, 05:27:46 pm »
Quick question guys

I have lights sensors on my MK5, i want upgrade headlights to GTI lights. Will any units fit or do I need headlights designed for lights sensors.

The reason I am asking is, seen on Ebay seller sell normal chrome lights  and he stated: "That headlights for Volkwagen Golf MK5. These Lights also have the 'Auto Lights' Function. Part Numbers

1K6 941 006 Q
1LG 247 007-12

1K6 941 005 Q
1LG 247 007-11

Ok understand 1K6941006/5Q part numbers, most headlights have them, but 1LG 24700711-12 what are they for??

When I look for gti lights do i need to find the one with light sensor completable?

1LG 247 007-11 doesnt come up, must be after market part number, most mk5 parts will start 1K0 or 1K6

now the chrome lights are 1K6 941 005 n left and 006 n right
the dark GTI ones are 1K6 941 005 T left and 006 T right

then there are the xenons

Cheers Phil,

Just to confirm, headlights are not playing any role in auto lights function?

Headlight have nothing to do with the auto function. The auto function is to do with sensor on your front window which sends a signal to the Canbus to switch em on
