The Grand National
« on: April 14, 2012, 02:38:57 pm »
So peeps, it's that time of the year again when complete horse racing novices (like myself) waste their hard earned on a nag/nags that:-

1: no one has ever heard off
2: will not finish
3: was picked for the name alone
Or my favourite,
4: you got it in the sweepstakes at work!

My horses are

Rare Bob
Mon Mome
Shakalakaboomboom

And

Always Right - That's one for the wife  :signLOL:

Wish me luck, either a new TB Miltek or the kids starve!   :happy2:

It's an absolutely vile event that should have been banned many years ago.

Oh well. No winner for me. 3 fell, 1 finished out of my picks! Good job I don't do this sort of thing as a living, would be homeless very soon and divorced. Maybe next year!

I was backing Seabass with the girl jockey but didn't place any bets - She rode extremely well though and came 3rd.

Two horses had to be destroyed and I think one of them (Synchronized?) was the horse that had spooked at the tape well before the start and had to be retrieved. Seemed a gentle tempered horse - Jockey was 'AP'.
