Cruise Control cost?
« on: April 15, 2012, 12:48:19 pm »
Hi all

Anyone know or recently had the cruise control fitted by dealers and can tell me how much this would cost?

I've done a quick search and can see it cost £160 but this was a year or so ago, have prices changed much?

Thanks

I had mine done by Awesome for £150 inc Vat Took around an hour or so.

IIRC the Kit can be bought from VW for around £80 inc VAT. And Awesome charge an hours labour.

Thanks guys.

I'm hoping to get some MFSW buttons (hopefully just secured a set on the For Sale section) and fit them at the same time whilst the steering wheel is apart.

Is there anyone in the Hertfordshire area that could fit both if I buy the cruise control stalk from dealers and how much would they charge?

Thanks in advance.

Think I would be ok with the MFSW buttons but no idea with the cruise control and messing with the airbag does scare me slightly :scared:

VRStu - many thanks, what nights are you in Watford? I'm near Hemel Hempstead so can easily get to you

If I can jump in too, I have the cruise stalk fitted, but need the wire fixing through from the engine bay area and into the back of the steering column
(i don't have the confidence to fit it myself without some expert to hand)
I'm in Wolverhampton, anyone local to me? :happy2:

I think you may have to check the compatability of your steering control module as some are not be compatable with C/C.
When I changed my module for MFSW I mistakenly chose the deficient type, I may be wrong.
