.
Big Beemer estates in my neck of the woods too and not much else except a grey Mondeo which trailed me for over 10 miles, some of which was in the 90s, and then let me off with just a warning that my only fault was speed and that he never wanted to see me again - The feeling was mutual and I shook his hand! I think he was a bit surprised and probably relieved that I didn't hug him!

i may be way off the mark here.... but isnt there a law that states they have something like 2 miles in which to follow a vehicle and then they must pull it over or release else its a form of harassment?

if they are in pursuit its different of course

it may just be a pub myth though but im sure ive heard that somewhere

Anyone ever played follow the Police car. Try it one day if you haven't.

It can get very entertaining

Not heard that before. Got followed home once from Brighton to Horsham, approx 20 miles. By the time he stopped me I just wanted to punch him for scaring the hell of me (didn't obviously). Then spent 10 mins sat in the back of his cruiser watching me on TV and listening to the smug sod go on about speeding and like his Bi**h I just kept saying sorry!! Got away with it anyway.

....Well, in my case I was actually very glad he followed me for 10 miles which included me rigidly staying under 30 through a village and not booting it until my shoulders were level with the GLF (aka NSL) sign and also doing textbook positioning and distances for overtakes. If he had only seen me flash by at ninety-something he would doubtless have thrown the book at me.

I knew the car was there at a decent distance matching my speed but didn't realise it was an unmarked Police car.

I actually have a great deal of respect for the unmarked cars that follow you for long enough to see how you are driving and then use some discretion and intelligence.

I do as well.  Only in estate guise though.  And they seem to have really held on to their value as well  :fighting:
