Stage 1 coilpacks

Hey guys,
just wondering if going stage 1 will cause coil packs to go more often or if it was just coincidental that mine went a week after the remap?
Cheers,
Sean

Definitely a coincidence. A few months ago VW invited owners to have their coilpacks checked and they replaced those of an earlier version free of charge. There is a thread about it if you do a Search.
If you ever go to Stage 2 I would recommend changing spark plugs every 20k miles just to keep everything sweet.
