Hello new guy after some advice and help !

Hello everyone I am new here.

I have had my car, a 2005 5 door Red Golf Gti Mk5 for nearly a year and love it.

During this time there has been rusting appearing around the bottom of the rear tailgate VW badge/handle. It looks as though this has been caused by water gathering and sitting in the recess at the bottom behind the badge which has pushed some of the metal away.

Anyone know if this is a common problem? I haven't had a proper look at it yet I would have thought there must be some sort of drainage through the tailgate to stop this from happening?

Also anyone know of a decent and reputable bodyshop Sunderland / North east area who could sort it out without it costing me a fortune?

 You need to go and bust the chops of your VW dealer for a warranty claim!

There's a very good thread on this rust. I'm waiting to her back on mine here in NI

i didnt buy the car from the VW dealer should i still pop in as it is possibly covered by corrosion warranty ?
