Is a faulty CD changer worth anything
« on: April 22, 2012, 10:55:44 am »
Hi. My 05 GTIs armrest CD changer has stopped working. I'm not going to splash out to get it fixed, but is it worth much if I sell it as faulty? It will still take discs ok and swap between them, it just can't read them anymore. Does anyone know if it has any value?

Probably the laser that reads the discs or its mechanism is shot.

Quite surprising because the loader mechanism is usually shot before the laser from my experience.

To a capable individual, I think its a possible DIY but dont know how many people would be prepared for such a project.

Best of luck with the sale!
