Hello, my name is Mark and I am a ...
« on: May 14, 2009, 12:32:16 pm »
Hi there,

I'm fairly new to the forum. I own a 2007 Mk5 Golf GTI, which I've had for two years. For the first two years I did nothing to it except install Bluefin Stage 1 once the car was run-in. 26,000 miles have past and in the last few weeks I've started modding it. I've been taking piccies of the modifications, so I'll post a build thread one of these days - fairly standard stuff.

My other project is my 1969 Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior. It's now in a state that I'm happy with. I started with a pretty good GT and since then I've changed the interior, suspension, exhaust, wheels, tyres, intake, fluids and done a bit of remedial work on the body.

So now it runs with the following :
Alfaholics full stainless steel exhaust including sports manifold/header
Alfaholics lightweight Strada 14'' alloy wheels + Dunlop SP Sport tyres
Alfaholics Spec B suspension kit, including springs, uprated anti-roll
Deleted rear ARB
GTA Adjustable camber
Koni Sports adjustable dampers (Yellow)
Powerflex poly bushings on all major suspension components
Alfaholics braided brakelines
Ferrodo DS2500 pads
Motul racing brake fluid
Alfaholics carpets
Alfaholics seat covers
Alfaholics door panels
Pipercross intake trumpets after Airbox delete
Pipercross airfilter over twin carbs

Here is a photo now :

Anywhoo.. I'm a Brit living and working in Holland, got two little kids and married to Michelle (she has the New Beetle) - I'm waiting on my new BBS wheels coming for the Golf before I post any pictures of the GTI.

I've had a fairly large number of cars over the years, usually a few at a time between my wife and I (I get board easily, I'm only 36 :D )

And in the old car thread I've posted a few of them with photos... over the years I've prolly owned about 14 VAG cars (of which only 3 I've posted pictures off :D)

There has been a constant theme though.. I've taken quite a few of them to tracks over Europe. Until recently I was doing the 'ring quite a few times a year (been going there since 2001) and I've been to Zolder, Zandvoort, Spa, Anglesey, Croft, and Goodwood quite a few times.
