My new baby :D - Golf GTI MK5 Tornado Red - Build/Progress Thread

So I got finally got myself a mk5 GTI. And I love it! Best handeling car I've owned so far!
I've allways been into the VW scene before I started driving. Ive allways owned a VW.

First car was a mk2 polo 1.3 GT
Then. I got a mk2 Golf Driver 1.8. Got bored of that and swapped engine out for a 1.8 turbo tuned to about 200 hp
Then I decided I wanted something new and got a mk4 Golf GT TDI. Never got along with it so traded it in for this mk5 golf gti.

I love this car and I can see me keeping it for a long while.
 I'll upload some pics soon. Im on my iPhone at the moment.

Hehe. I had a bit of vinyl carbon wrap laying about in the shed. So I decided to wrap my badge. Was easier than I actually thought:





Bought a snow foam lance. Hehe :D

Oh it was crazy lol! Faster on acceleration then this because it weights nothing. :D

Last saturday I got a milltek exhaust from Big-Pete on here.

Gave it a good clean up was happy with the results.

Before: (just had a wire wool clean and I wasent happy with it)

milltek is fitted, sounds really nice.  :grin:

Ill get some photos soon.

Also Took the car back to VW to get all 4 coilpacks replaced under warranty.  :wink: so glad thats sorted now, while i was there is bought a fuel pump cam follower. just for incase  :happy2:

For some reason its developed a REALLY annoying rattle from the back end.... (probably due to all these crappy roads around here haha)  :fighting:
I think that it's coming from the boot lid. So I'm going to attempt to take that apart and see what's what today. (if the rain holds off that is)  :wink:

Nah usually mate if there is a noise coming from your boot its the strings for the parcel shelf  :happy2:

Hahaha  :laugh: I read that first line and thought... EH?  :happy2:

Just finished messing around with the car,  :confused:

Took the plastic cover off the inside of the boot lid and i was confused at first, i couldn't see anything that would cause it.

So i stripped the back lights out and found that the left light had a rattle. The red reflector inside was rattling around, looks like they are a sealed unit and i couln't ge inside of the bloody thing. But i managed to sort it out by pushing it back into position and dropping a bit of super glue on the little tabs that hold it.

YAY fixed.  :grin:

My drivers door rattles sometimes on heavy bass

well not a rattle more a buzz so annoying lol
