Induction "flutter"
« on: April 27, 2012, 01:46:40 pm »
Since I got the neuspeed induction kit it's whistled and then hissed when changing gear or letting off the throttle but that last two days it's stopped hissing and now makes a sort of fluttering noise. Is there a reason it's suddenly changed. Nothing has been changed in the engine bay for a long while either :/

Is the filter clean?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

if it flutters more often than not, and the car is on standard map, then you could have a stuck recirculation valve. My car does it with the TWINtake kit fitted, but only flutters if I release and re-apply the gas in quick succession...the rest of the time its just 'ptssshhhhhh'  :happy2:

Depends what you have been doing if you have built up a lot of pressure by being on the throttle for a while it would tsssh rather than a flutter (technical engineering terms here ).
