RNS-510 help...
« on: April 27, 2012, 07:39:24 pm »
Hi there,

Have been looking at the RNS-510 on ebay and I'm thinking about gettin a refurbished one.  My car is a 2008 edition 30 fitted with the RCD 500.  Here is a link to the one I am looking at:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190666425103?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

Will I require a MFSW??  Does this seem like a good deal?

Thanks

Matt

Good price For the Led C version :happy2:

Comes with everything u need! You don't need the Steering wheel to operate the Rns510.

Do it. You won't regret it

^^^^ What Eddie said!

519 for a unit B is quite a lot. Get the LED version. Much better :D hopefully your canbus is a latest version so you shouldnt have battery drain issue.

Excellent replies guys! :happy2: Thanks, helped a lot!  Couple more questions though lol...

Does this unit have six disc changer like my current RCD 500? and is there much difference between C and H?

Thanks again!

It doesn't come with a 6 CD changer, but with the HDD built in, you can load around 25GB of music, so you don't ever need to use CD's again.

From my understanding, the H has a larger HDD, quicker processor and then the obvious benefits of more up to date firmware and probably maps too. And there is quite a difference in speed between the C & H thanks to the faster processor. It also seems that you can only go up to a certain firmware update on the older units due to the processor, whereas the newer firmware will work on the H.

If you go for a Version C make sure its an LED one. As mentioned above theres not much difference between the C and H.

If you are going for a C version N13KKF over on R32oc can get them supply them with everything needed for £550 or I believe Eddie on here can get the new H versions if you want the newest one. :happy2:

Yeah another good one!

You should really get the latest version you can afford though  :happy2:

See Eddie for a H version

Can't believe the prices :surprised:

When I think what I paid for my B version when that what first released, I could cry  :sad1:

.....still worth every penny I paid though. If you spend a fair bit of time in the car the RNS510 is one of the best mods you can buy!  :notworthy:
