Driving experience..
« on: April 28, 2012, 10:50:59 am »
My brother bought me a driving experience for my birthday in November and I've just been to do it this morning. It was at Staffordshire activity centre and was booked through groupon and cost £89. I chose to drive a Audi r8 and Ferrari 360. It was absolutely awesome !

I've always heard bad things about them but it was I mint !

I got 6 laps in each car and they let you rag them !

Well worth a go for the money

Which cars did you drive ?

R8, 360 and then i paid a few extra quid to drive a 911 carrera (can't remember exactly, might have been a 2S)

To be honest... id rather have done a track day in my car.

They do leave you wanting more! I done a track day down in thruxton a few years ago. I was given a red letter day voucher and added another 100 green queens to drive a Lotus Exige for 16 laps. There me and one other guy to share the car. There was 10+ people all having to wait to drive a porka or jag for one lap at a time. Great fun!  :driver:

I've got a similar one booked with an R8 & aston V8 Vantage, but i think i'm going to choose Elvington at York. Must get it booked  :happy2: :happy2:

When i last went down to the site at Staffs, i found it very badly organised, i had to wait arond for ages, there seemed far too many people there and you got pushed around like cattle, i was even forgotten about for one of the cars, until i kicked off at the end. One of the main reasons for going to elvington in hope that its better managed!!

I was there at 815 for briefing , in the r8 for 840 and the Ferrari at 910 so couldn't complain , would imagine it'd be a bit frustrating if you had a massive wait I between but I was lucky , got a few free extra laps too :-)
