Ideal Sub Set up for Summer 2012

as the golf has 3 way component speakers you have a choice from focal, then hertz, jl, rainbow, a/d/s, morel

subwoofers u have a good range from alpine, jl, orion, fi btl, pioneer, etc. ive got 2 alpine type r's

amps good ones genesis, jl, orion, zapco, etc.

any 4 guage wiring will do copper one are best

a good agu fuse 90amp or above

power caps are not needed thou they help even the voltage out from spikes. i have one in mine a vibe 1.5 farad as my lights dimm when thelow bass drops still didnt help  even with as bigger battery looks like i need the big 3.

I might ask for some help wiring an amp and sub to the RNS510....a bit later in the year.

mine was easier due to having a Chinese knock off unit that looks like oem so had all the cables ready for sub and amp

I currently have a mfd2 - is it worth getting a RNS510 if I intend to uprate the speakers. Is there any difference in sound quality between these two units

What kind of system are ya looking for?

SPL or SQ orientated? Basically one where ppl will hear you miles away or more Sound quality orientated?

Door components - as mentioned before - Hertz ESK165's, Focal's, Rainbows... Ive had all three in mine and to be honest they're all very Good!

Currently rocking 2 sets of 3ways in each door - Focal A3's 

Subs - again it depends on what kind of system you're looking for? Im running a SPL system so rock Orion HCCA's but JL are brilliant all rounders!! Will be looking to get 2 x 13" W6 in a few weeks...

As for wiring.. Audison!! (Connection by Audison)  Autoleads, and Stinger also do fairly good Wiring kits.. would refrain from using fli or boss audio tho


Might also be worth pointing out that Car Audio Security will be having their annual sale at the end of this month!! Major discounts across all brands!
