« on: April 29, 2012, 09:48:12 pm »
Hi all my gti has developed problem with the heater and aircon.

1st aircon does not work at all the compressor does not turn on, just had it regased and was advised no leaks. checked fuses etc all ok had a small sensor changed the one that sits behind the rad made no change.

2nd With the cc set to say 20 the heat that comes out the vents is 38.7 this is when the engine is hot and intermittent.

There are temperature sensors that are fitted into the trunking for the ventilation that are only held in by rubber grommets and can easily come out.  There may be a fault on the A/C panel.

VCDS Scan will no doubt reveal more.

Is the compressor ok?  The clutches on them are prone to failure.

When i press the aircon button i have no indication that the compressor has turned on i was also advised that one of the fans should also come on when the air con is turned on not sure about this? my fan dont come on.
