Dale's ED30 Progress Thread
« on: April 29, 2012, 02:20:26 pm »
Time has come to get some kind of thread up and running.

I recently picked up my new Edition30 and posted a new members thread. Can be found here: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,46333.0.html

Been a forum car for a few years so many of you will know the car.

Brief specification:

Revo Stage 1 - with SPS switch - 310bhp
Miltek cat back
Dblas intake with pipercross foam cone
R32/S3 Brakes up front
VWR springs
Satnav - mfd 2 - 6 cd autochanger
Winter pack - heated mirrors, headlight washers etc
19"x8 BBS CKs in antharcite and Falkens
Genuine US spec front - grills etc - carbon wrapped centre trim

Couple of pictures few days after I picked her up:

Made a few subtle changes up to now..

The centres of the discs had been painted a strange white colour so decided to freshen them up with some black. Did front and rear including the back plates.

Before:

After:

The front splitter had a few stone chips to the side so removed the front bumper done some tidying up and removed the splitter to get repainted.

Whilst the bumper was off decided to wrap the fog lights in Lamin-x yellow film

Before:

After:   (splitter still getting painted)

Next came a set of FK coilovers to get some sort of stance going:

Got them fitted this weekend, might not be to everyones taste with it being so low with camber etc.. No rubbing other than occasionally from the front when cornering over rough ground.

Pictures:

No pictures from the front just yet as it looks terrible with the front splitter still off.

Also de-wipered the rear and fitted a glass bung!

All comments welcome.  :happy2:

Thanks Dale.

I commented on your other thread how impressed I am with the appearance and mods so far. I went with a loosely similar concept cosmetically  :happy2:

This is the money shot for me, brings all the right Steel Grey reflections out properly

Superb  :drinking:

Because they look good in my opinion?

Why do you have a red car? Because you think it looks good.

Its quite simple  :booty:

Car looks great, love the colour and stance. Glad someone sed it. Touché but true. Everyone has an opinion but everyone like things different ways, if we didn't we would all be boring, that's why we mod our cars. Fogs suit the car.

Haha cheers guys much appreciated  :happy2:

Fogs will look alot better once the front end is back in one piece

The car is polished with Autoglym 'super resin polish' then its coated in multiple layers of 'high definition' wax left to dry on each time for around 15 minutes. Probably around 3 layers on at the minute. Water just falls off!

Its actually dirty in the last pictures but the shine and colour hides it well. Plus the poor photo quality helps

Ill get some proper pictures sorted when the weather improves!

Thanks again
Dale.

Looks fantastic mate,
Love the camber on the rear, though that does look uncomfortably low for daily driving height.
