National tyres oil change
« on: May 01, 2012, 11:31:49 am »
Has anyone on here used national tyres to do an oil change?

It's £39 on there website to do an oil and filter change using Castrol edge 5w-30
Seems cheaper than buying the oil myself, I would supply a genuine filter.

They are generally good value except they will probably use an extractor rather than drain the sump.

There was a thread on this a few months back

I trust the chaps at my local national tyres and I'll probably do what you do and get a gen filter and have them do the oil/filter change 10k miles post service

Booked in for Friday,  Had to pay online though.

They may charge a small fee to remove undertrays. Is it a hassle on the golf?

I will never use the Aberdeen branch of national tyres ever again.

I waited for over 4 hours for them to touch my car after phoning ahead.

The monkey that done the work on my car was on his phone or speaking to people more than doing any work in the garage.

They done the oil change after my car had been sitting for 4 hours so the oil in the car would of been cold.

And after putting the new oil in the monkey started my car and Instanty revved the hell out of my car then drove it flat out into a parking space. When I complained the manager said he never seen it happen so couldn't do anything about it.

In future I will be paying my usual mechanic to do the oil changes. Can't risk my engine or turbo for the sake of saving a few quid
