Dont try to decant wax out of a pot!
« on: May 05, 2012, 11:17:01 am »
Learned a hard lesson this week, if you ever try share some of  a pot of wax for a mate, beware, as it could end up turning into a pot of purple baby food as it did in my case!
I tried to share 50g from my pot of Auto Finesse Desire,  when I got to the 50g mark on the scales, half the pot had gone, so I put it back into my main pot. This went horribly wrong and the wax turned into purple baby food basically. so my thoughts were that I've just thrown £120 away.
I then phoned Auto Finesse who then offered to try to re set the wax if I returned the pot.
They were then unable to salvage the wax, so offered to replace my wax and post it back free of charge.
There arent many companies out there that would go to such lengths for a customer, so would just like to say a big thanks to auto finesse for their customer service.
And also top tip is to not try and decant wax out of a pot :ashamed:

So when you say decant, did you melt it down??  You should just be able to scoop a bit out, as if you were measuring out butter - I wouldn't ever try and melt it down to do.....

Thats all I did scoop it out :scared:
I wouldnt go melting a £120 pot down
I would have thought it would have been ok scooping it out, but just seemed like it all broke down for some reason. Auto finesse said its something to do with the solvents :stupid:
Hats off to them like I said, I wasnt expecting such service off them. People always find they throw freebies in the box when you order online from them aswell. Wish there wer more companies as helpful around nowadays :happy2:
