Coolant/radiator pipe diameter?

Just wondering it anyone knows the diameter of the top radiator hose? Mines split and vw not got one in the country. I have 28mm Samco hose? Just as short term fix till pipe arrives. Don't wanna take pipe off if 28mm pipe too small
