Airbag light on
« on: May 01, 2012, 10:54:12 am »
Hi guys I've had my air bag warning light on for a while now, I've had it reset before and was told it was the loose sensor under the seat. I have my MOT coming up soon and was wondering if this would fail due to the warning light.
Thanks in advance.

instant fail im afraid -

new regs stat that any warning lights on the dash are a fail - best thing you can do is explain to the mot'er that its due to a loose connection that you're having sorted by vw or something - try and blag it  :happy2:

If it is the plug causing issue and you have a soldering iron it is an easy repair, though it still needs fault clearing afterwards.

An auto electrical place could do it, there is a bulletin they could follow.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

I had this warning light a couple of weeks ago. Richn83 very kindly came round and checked it with VCDS, and it came up as a side curtain airbag, not the one under the seat. After clearing it, It didn't show on the next report thingy he did, and has not come back on. Do you know for sure it's the one under the seat?
