RNS 510 firmware update
« on: May 14, 2012, 01:58:02 pm »
Hi all,

I have been trying to update the firmware on my RNS510 and have a bit of a problem, it seems no matter which firmware version I use, the process always fails at the same point, which is at 12% of the GATEWAY update, I then get the message: SWL ERROR, Error-VuC- Labrary load failure. I have managed to recover the unit using the SWL Recovery disc but wondered if anyone has any ideas why this might be happening?. I think the unit is version a B and was running firware 1100. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have an MDI or anything else wired in with a Plug & Play lead?

What Firmware are you trying to upgrade to?

If it is anything past 2680 forget it. You can't make that big a jump. You will have to find 2680 first, upgrade to that and then go to whatever one your trying to upload.

That's normally what causes that problem.
