Sachs DMF from 2008 are they a myth?
« on: May 09, 2012, 09:59:13 am »
Hi All,

Together with my wheel woes I have decided to bite the bullet and sort out a new clutch for my Edition 30. I am Ccnsidering the uprated Sachs kit.

Want to order the clutch and have it fitted locally by a garage I trust. Sachs seem to do two different covers depending of which DMF I have fitted.

There seems to be a common perception that the DMF changed from Luks to Sachs in 2008 on Gti's/ED30's. Digging deeper it appears this is only rumour coming from a problem on Luk diesel DMF that meant they changed to Sachs. Basically has anyone ever found they have a Sachs flywheel on a GTI or Ed30?

An old link but also covers the subject but not conclusive,
