Finally managed to get one of these beauties fitted last week-ish by Alex AKS.
Went for a full system, de-cat, 3" pipe and some fattt tails which look wicked. oh, and it's R32 styleeee with my new bumper.
As I cannot drive fast atm (as I have the incorrect map for the car), I have to drive off boost and generally below 3-4k revs. Self-induced but I don't want problems!
When I first saw my golf with it, I was happy, very happy. The R32 back looked mighty fine and tips protruding out meant business. Nice noise on start had me in awe, but it's not too loud at all (compared to mates remus decat on his VXR). Anyway, louder than standard, enough to go "what's that", but not enough to go "it's a chavvy VXR".
So to date, I haven't been above 4k, but the noise as I gently accelerated got louder and louder. I wanted to continue but decided the month wait is worth it, and I don't want anything wrong. It's already on slightly dodgy ground (but somehow i'm getting 45-50 mpg!).
Had the oppertunity to overtake a oblivious to anything driver yesterday and did a clean overtake without going above 4k, the noise = awesome and no doubt the driver of overtaken vehicle was left in no doubt that the golf wasn't best pleased (or a better car
).
Anyway, I will update later on when the maps complete. My drive from rtech to home will be gopro'd so hopefully get a good video. The video will be entitled 'Golf GTI going crazy'. Read into that what you may, but one things for sure, the sound will be completely crazy if what i'm getting at 3/4k is replicated higher up.
The fitting is perfect from when I had the golf jacked up yesterday and design flawless. I'll do some more on this when the maps on. I'll take it to friends workshop and get it on the ramp there aswell for some photos.
Alex AKS has some photos which I might be able to steal from him
Nige - finally bought one in the end! Long time coming since we spoke in March!!
One question - apart from normal 'washing', how is best to keep the tips nice and shiny?
