Detail My Ride - SteveP's Carbon GTD

Greeners:
After accompanying Steve to collect this car a few weeks back I'd been itching to take a closer look at this lovely VW colour.

In fairness to the dealer the car was in very good shape considering the car had been a demo and the dealer had prepped it prior to collection. Very few holograms or scratches to deal with, so we were just looking to enhance and give the car some more protection.

Here's how she arrived!!  :surprised:








The front wheels actually looked Black on the CCTV when he pulled up! :laugh:




So on to the cleaning stage, the tyres and arches were soaked down with AS G101 and agitated with various brushed. The wheels were then cleaned with wheel woolies using AS Smart Wheels......


DMR's secret snow foam mix doing it's thing! (in the rain!)



Then onto the usual 2BM wash with lambswool wash mitts and Dodo Juice Supernatural shampoo. (No pics I'm afraid as it was raining!!)

I did spray round the car with Iron-X and Tardis but apart from a few tar spots she was in fairly good order!





After what seemed like an age in the pouring rain the car was finally clean and ready to be moved in and dried off!


Decided to attack the plastic and gloss areas first with Meguire's MF system.

So once these area's were sorted I moved onto the paintwork and used Dodo Juice Lime prime with a DA to ready the paint for a good layer of Auto Finesse Tough Coat. No during pics as Steve had a meeting elsewhere so time was against me, so just some shiny afters!  :wink:


























Stunning colour and really happy we got to work on the car, thanks Steve!  :happy2:
