4 Wheel Alignment
« on: May 10, 2012, 06:17:27 pm »
Hi. I recently had a 4 wheel alignment done on my 06 GTI and just noticed at the top of the paperwork that it gives the model as a 2006, Golf V [1k], Sportsline (2UC) which doesn't seem right.

Car seems to be fine but if anyone knows whether these results are within spec it would be greatly appreciated.

Front:

Caster Left    +6˚39
Caster Right    +6˚37

Camber Left    -0˚42
Camber Right    -0˚42

Toe Left    +0˚06
Toe Right    +0˚06

Rear:

Camber Left    -1˚18
Camber Right    -1˚18

Toe Left    +0˚06
Toe Right    +0º06

All spot on.  Can't really get any better than that.

Thanks thats great  :happy2:

Wasn't sure whether there should have been more negative camber on the front and back.

Question: had a 4 wheel laser alignment when i bought 4 new tyres and now my steering wheel is off centre when driving straight. It was quite out, but 4 previous tyres had worn evenly. Confused.com. Would road camber exaggerate this now its correct?

One of the reason's I had the alignment done was that my steering wheel was always in the 12:30/1 o'clock position when driving. I thought it might be the road camber at first but I found that when I would drive slowly on the road outside my flats (which is cambered to the right rather than the left) and centred the steering wheel it would still pull to the left.

Since the alignment the steering wheel is pretty much at the centre unless the road is heavily cambered.
