Standard Setup Vs RNS 510 Vs Aftermarket Unit

I need opinions of those with all setups.

I'm growing up so i'm not loosing my boot to a subwoofers.

Primarily i'm after - Sound Quality,Ipod, DAB (as FM on way out) not fussed on Sat Nav, not fussed on rear camera and already have a BT kit to stay legal.

However an RNS/RCD510 is as expensive as aftermarket units even when you factor in fascia's and harness adaptors for MFSW control.

The std VW group unit would/could give better protection against getting stolen as an advantage.

With those who have replaced their std MK5 setups what have you replaced with and are you happy with it?

I in the same situation as you. Grown out of having subwoofers as i bought my car for family use. I replaced my standard unit with an RNS 510 firstly because of having mp3 playback off the hard drive and also for the satnav. Everyone who sits in my car loves how easy it is to use especially browsing through the selection screen. Makes looking for a song so much easier. People can't believe it's a vw unit! Haven't really used the DVD yet but maybe in future hookup rear screens for kids
