Hi all
I fitted the premium bluetooth 5N0 035 730A last week but have been waiting for the fitting bracket and cover so it was hidden behind the glove box for the time being.
Any way I got the foam bracket and plastic cover(not carpet) and took it all out and re-fitted it properly under the drivers seat. So this is just a basic guide to fitting the premium bluetooth and coding it with no fault codes showing.
To start off with I took the drivers seat out this is held in by 4 12point 10mm torque type tool, removing these will release the seat...dont forget to unclip the airbag and seat occupancy wiring.
I then had the foam bracket and bluetooth module which has you can see the module fits nice and snug inside the foam.
Ive not got pictures of the fitting of the mic and harness or the antenna...but basically my harness was the type with a quadlock fitment cost about £50 from poland the mic was from the same guy and cost about £30 the antenna was £15 from UV Worldwide,
The mic was the vw/audi oem one and fitted in the light pod in the roof this was traced down to the drivers side and under the carpet into the BT area the antenna was brought down the same place but that is fitted just behind the top of the window screen. The BT harness is plugged into the back of the RNS510 and comes straight down to the side of the centre console and again under the carpet and to the BT area where its to be fitted.
Anyway once every thing is all in one place it should look like this,
And with the seat back in dont forget to clip the plugs back in for the seat occupancy and airbag.
The coding was the worst part and took all of 30 minutes to get it right...basically the standard coding for Radio and Navigation is 0020055 but I kept getting the base plate and control head faults on this so had to play about abit but if you have the rns510, MFSW highline and I coded with 0021141 and this doesn't bring any fault codes up:D
I hope this little guide help some one out there cos its an excellent piece of kit especially when used with the RNS510 or RCD510.
