I bought my GTI in Sept 2010 with 37500 on the clock , its now sitting just over 49000. Last years service was carried out on June 2nd 2011 and by then it was sitting on 42200 , so it looks as though I will have done about 7000 in the year between services. Looking through the service book , my car did 10500 in its first year , 4800 in its second , 12000 in its 3rd , 10000 in its fourth , 5000 in its fifth and as I say is on course for 7000 in its sixth. It has had 4 owners before me so you can see their vehicle useage varied somewhat!  :driver:

^^^^ similar thing, my mum passed away 4 years ago, didn't drive for 3 years before that and her V Reg 206 xsi (which she had from new) has about 19000 miles on it. My old man kept the car for the family to use when our cars are in the garage etc. Car has done 253 miles between services, I looked it up today. Oh cracking little motor as well!

My Dad retired 8 years ago and kept his van (Bedford Rascal) just used it to go to the dump. Did 400 miles in 8 years , passed MOT every year , never serviced covered in rust and during its last year it was stolen due to it being easy to steal ! Ran out of petrol 2 miles from dads house ! He had it from 1995 at a year old and had it serviced once because it was free !
Got £180 for it when i drove it to the scrap yard end of last year
