How many applications do you use Carl?

I just use one coat of FK.

It's more down to the preparation and application than anything else.

When i clean the wheels i completely strip any existing layer of by cleaning with Bilberry wheel cleaner, Tardis, Iron-X and washing up liquid. I then IPA the wheel down twice and ensure it is bone dry. Then and only then do i apply the FK and let it cure for at least 30mins before buffing off.

The main thing that attracts me to FK is that it is a similar price to C5, seems to last just as well and i would literally 1000's of applications from one tin vs 4 - 6 wheels worth from one 30ml bottle of C5.

As said though i will do a direct side by side comparison when i next clean my car around July/Aug time.

Yeah, my prep is identical, but I'm normally applying 2 coats of PBs and 2 of 476s.

I don't have any experience/knowledge of 476 other than it is quite hard wearing. Is it a high temp wax?

It's not a high temperature wax. People are attracted to it because it is extremely durable. Lasts bloody ages.

How is it holding up on your wheels?

Yeah, incredibly well, but because I use it on my Detroits I perhaps don't notice the brake dust build up as much as if I applied it to silver wheels. But the 476s certainly lasts the 8 months the wheels are on my car.

Keen to try FK though if you only need 1 or 2 coats.

Anyone able to provide a direct comparison between FK 1000P and Auto Finesse Mint Rims?

I've never tried 476 and was very tempted to buy some , as I have heard its very long lasting.
I really can't see how the hell 15ml of C5 is going to coat four wheels properly , and at that price they can poke it.

I'll buy some 476 and use that over the top of the poorboys and see how that lasts  :happy2:

C5 is exactly the same as C1. You can coat a full car with 30ml so 4 wheels with 15ml is easy.

It has an extremely high spread ratio.

I guess you get what you pay for at the end of the day. I could be tempted to try some

I'm not sure it adds anything extra compared to/over FK1000p

But when I do a comparison I will be able to say definitively.
