Pressed plates online
« on: May 12, 2012, 11:03:29 pm »
I am wanting to get a set of pressed metal number plates made up but there is nowhere local that does them

I'm not too keen on posting my v5 and id to some random companies

Is there any sites that will send me out the plates without having to send them my docs?

Try dubmeister. They have various places dotted around the country that you can take your documents to and pay a small additional fee and they will place order so you dont need to send anything off.

If not try ebay, but may not be legal. I know someone who did order off ebay and they come with the correct markings on :S Abit dodgy really but none the less he got legal plates.

you can photocopy your v5 and send it to dubmeister or get the ones on ebay. i have had them on for a few months with no problems so far but someone on here got pulled for it using the ebay ones.

Dubmesiter are the only company that makes fully UK legal pressed plates , complete with BS mark. If you want them for the road youre better getting them ones , if its just for shows , get them off ebay.

There site states it must be the original copies and not photocopies

They still need the original copy of the v5

I would rather get the dub miester plates
But I have just sent the docs away to transfer my plate onto the golf and will need plates to put onto the car when the tax disc arrives and will prob be a few weeks after that till I get he v5 back

I don't want to have to pay £30 for a set of standard plates now then pay out for pressed plates later

I think I'll just go with the ebay link above

Don't care if mr plod comes sniffing as everything else on the car is more than legal 9 out of 10 policemen seem decent enough around here just he odd one that ruins there reputation

+1 for Dubmeister.

I scanned and emailed my V5.  They manufactured and posted my plates the same day!  Awesome service.

In 2 years never had any bother from the authorities or at MOT either, as they are fully BS stamped.

If you go to shows there are a number of places that make legal pressed ones whilst you wait.
(and they don't ask for your V5, although they should!!!)
