here's a small update thanks to a good mate of mine timmy plastic the plastic welding legend, I managed to collar him for a couple of days to make a start on the first stage of my rear bumper.

then i had a custom hidden tailpipe made to work with the new rear bumper.

Not something that I'd do or even consider, but it looks like you've done it very well indeed. May I ask why you would want to hide the exhaust??

cheers mate i knew people might not agree with it i'm just into the smooth look when i get the aire on and get it laying on the deck i think it'll look alot cleaner from the rear.

As above it's a bit random now but playing the long game when i'm laying on the deck it'll work alot beter from the rear  :rolleye: :rolleye:

Still got to smooth the grain out of the bottom half of the rear and colour code it but this will happen when i shorten my number plate recess.

Thought about doing that in the past but was nver sure if it would make it look like a GTI replica. Have you removed the back box to put the downswept pipe on?

Its a magnex stainless system the last bit of the tailpipe just un bolted, so i had the exhaust place replicate it but just put a downturn on instead of the twin no back box's have been lost and the system sounds the same as it was.

I'm not overally fussed if it looks like a replica as long as it doesn't go like a replica when i'm finished lol

I think it looks pefect mate, Just wish i had had the balls to do it first, Although i do like the exhaust on Jeroen Dik's old GTi, (before the smash) just a shame i cant find any pics other than the ones in PVW.
