Managed to get on with a bit more over the weekend. stripped the seats down and started retrimming the backs, i've always wanted to do this and with the backs having a couple of marks on through the lame courier it gave me the excuse.

Just need some more alcantara now to finish the last part of one of the seats ha ha.

....

Do those RS4 Recaros have Airbags? (side bags)

I assume probably not and am curious what Deactivation Warnings you are seeing.

Thanks.

No they don't have airbags well not safety ones ha ha just the ones that inflate with the bolsters and back support.

Not sure about warning lights yet as the cars had the battery disconnected for a week while everything is being trimmed.

I have a mate at VW so i'll take the car up there and get him to sort out the airbags etc with the computer system hopefully.

You'll find that neither VW UK nor any VW dealership will recode the airbag warnings as programmed for your individual car when built. It's all to do with legal responsibilities etc. Even if you're prepared to sign a document, they won't do it. But I was curious just in case you knew a workaround.

What you can do though is get someone to VCDS it so that the warning info only comes up at initial ignition systems check and then disappears along with the rest unless there is a problem with the other actually existing airbags, in which case the warning will remain and be flashing continuously.

....Glad to help

Greenouse also needs to know if anything can be done beyond the stage I've got mine to. So it'll be good to know what you find out later.
