A guy I work beside asked me if I would detail his mk2 escort, it's a car I'd love to own one day so I jumped at the chance.
The car wasn't really that dirty to be honest, intact was immaculate with just light surface dirt.
I've not got any before pictures I'm afraid, I forgot to take some (but have plenty of afters)
First up was the wheels, rinsed then Megs wheel brightener was applied, worked with various brushes. Arches and mud flaps were done with Megs apc and again worked with various brushes.
A pressure washer wasn't used on this car, just an open ended hose.
The car was washed in the usual 2bm with a lambs wool mitt and dodo btbm shampoo.
The car was coated using fine clay and Megs last touch, some tar spots were removed before claying using tardis.
The car was then given a good rinse and dried using ultra plush towels.
The car was masked up using 3m 3434 tape and via rotary and 3m yellow, was polished using Megs #205, this removed 90% of defects.
The car was then given two layers of zaino z2 with a few hours in between, and finished off with zaino z8. The vinyl roof, rubbers etc were treated with aerospace 303, glass polished with AGfast glass, and tyres dressed with duragloss 253. Wheels were sealed with poor boys wheels sealant.
The finished car......
