Good choice on the 500D, I am considering one when I make the move to DSLR later in the year!  :happy2:

Made the 500D purchase today. Played a tad this evening and its very good. Movie capture is fantastic quality. It was the first one the chaps in the shop had got their hands on and they liked (they were both Canon users though). Lots fun to be had me thinks. Will keep you posted.  Ta

Cheers Pitch.

Wow that was good of them about the offer, mind you, Jessops in Shrewsbury did the same for me when I bought my wife a new digital camera for christmas, the helpful sales lady told me to grab one the leaflets and get 10% off... :happy2:

I'm still looking at the 50D....
Cheers,

Wayne

Had a play last night & it is a fantastic bit of kit. I have not played with SLR's for 20 odd years & within 10 mins using it like a pro. (well maybe not)

It is so user friendly.

The movie mode..............a super add on & will be used a great deal that I have no doubt about. Quality is superb.

Big thumbs up so far :happy2: :happy2: :happy2: :happy2:

id be interested to have a play with the video mode.

i can see the advantages, but i guess there would be only so much you can with the video function.

like automatic real time focus whilst zooming, is it pants at that or ok?

Last nigh was indoors low light & it looked very good. I am however comparing it to a  6yo Panasonic DV, so not sure how things have moved on. But it was certainly better.

There are several functions & there autofocus although noisey.

Any idea's how I could up load a clip??

nah i wouldnt have thought so, you'll need somewhere to upload the raw file, photobucket and youtube will read the file and play it themselves
