18's, staggered or 19's? Tough choice
« on: May 16, 2012, 12:40:09 am »
HI guys,
After your advice.
Have decided that for my new dailies I am going to go for some BBS CH alloys.
Now the difficulty I have is deciding on the setup I should go for.

Want to have them repainted in a nice anthracite colour,
Should I go for a set of brand new 18 inch reps that are 8" fronts and 9" rears for a nice staggered fitment.
Or would you advise 19's? Not gone for 19's on my car, and not sure if there is no need to go for the bigger size.

As I said, I did have CH's on the car over winter, and thought they looked ace,  as can be seen here:

Is a staggered setup ok for a GTI, I was lead to believe it upsets the TPMS and traction?

It's a sure fire way of building understeer into the car, but I'm not sure it'd upset its nanny aids? 4-motion however I believe is a bit more sensitive.

I don't think this car is for 'go' though  :happy2:

I thought it was ok, and just R32's you have to be carefull as mismatched diameter can wind the diffs..
