Just registered on this forum as I have not long had my Mk5 GTi 5 door in Blue Graphite on a '57' plate. I have had the car since the end of January this year and I think its been one of the best cars I have owned so far to date. My reason for getting a GTI was because my previous car, Volvo S60R was staring to bankrupt me and I needed something cheaper to run. Returning no more than 21mpg (4.6mpg if I was playing), not to mention the main dealer charges. Don't get me wrong, loverly car and very capable and not to mention the 5 cylinder warble engine note the car produced - made you do weak at the knees. So when I sold my R I thought about looking at mk5 Golf GTi's and after pretty much a whole week of searching Autotrader, Piston Heads and the likes I see a Golf GTi that I liked.
The rest is history as they say.
