I fancy remap on my gtd 170 , advice please
« on: May 19, 2012, 10:17:06 pm »
I've got a mint 56 reg gt diesel 170 bhp, I live in south Yorkshire.
Should I get it remapped???  And who would you recomend fairly local?? Say 80mile radius.

Any pros and cons?
Expected bhp?
Fuel economy?
Dpf removal advice please?
And how much are we talking about for this.

Any advice is appreciated.
Cheers

Well if your from South Yorkshire I would say that Shark Performance in Mansfield isn't too far for you to travel. Only you will know whether you want to have it done or not.

Pros are obviously more power and more smiles. I had mine done a few weeks ago now and love it. Can't really think of any cons.

I had the egr delete and dpf off at the same time. Mine is loaded with the 212bhp map and ran 216bhp/464nm on Sharks rollers. Dpf off is a must if you don't want problems further down the line. Mine used to jerk about and run like a pig most of the time and now its fine. Shark do have a few maps so depending on how 'clean' you want it to run they should have something to suit. Mine is pretty smokey but it doesn't bother me that much. Only does it when you toe it. As far as mpg's go I have noticed a drop of about 10mpg. Still get between 46-50 on my daily commute so not too bad. Price wise it was quite expensive but its a route I wanted to take.

Hope this helps. My dyno readout is in my members ride if you want to have a look  :happy2:

Shark aren't far away from you.

We can also do you a cusom map, DPF, EGR removal and code out for £600. We are in Stockport :)

i had several maps loaded onto a Shark STS Device, Stage0, Stage 2 (216bhp) and Stage2+ (228bhp)

I had previously had the JBS Custom Code DPF Delete map and that was pants
