MDI Iphone 4s problem
« on: May 21, 2012, 10:06:28 pm »
As some of you know my car got done over and I lost my ipod and mdi lead. Since having the car back I've got a new mdi ipod lead and have been using my phone to play music through the mdi, I've also used the bluetooth on the phone to make calls and all is ok. Both them things have been done at different times but yesterday I tried to play music off the phone through the mdi and have the bluetooth turned on incase I got any calls, but for some reason as soon as the phone connects to the RNS it stops playing music through the mdi. As soon as I turned the bluetooth off it worked fine again.

Anyone else experiance this at all or can't you have the bluetooth on and play through the mdi??

Off ebay, it said it was genuine and has all the VW logo's and stickers on it but saying that the pack says made in china and every other one I've seen says made in romania iirc

I've seen them with 3 different countries on over the years.

This is the thing, I never used my iphone with the last lead as I had an ipod nano that I used for streming the music through the mdi. This is why I was asking is it something you can't do or if its something like the lead

Thats what I was thinking but when I turned the bluetooth on and put the RNS to media the time on the track from the iphone is still going just no sound as if turning the bluetooth on cancels out the sound.

Any chance of checking next time you go out??  if you've got bluetooth that is, cheeky I know lol

Mines does a similar thing.

When I get into my car and plug my iPhone into the MDI it plays music fine for a few seconds until it connects to bluetooth module, once connected I can't hear anything through the MDI. If I unplug the iPhone and then reconnect it to the MDI it starts working again.

Now I tend to let my iPhone connect to bluetooth first and then plug it into the MDI and it works fine this way.

This only started to happen after and apple OS update, can't remember which one.
