.
I've never used Tesco 99, just exclusively V-Power. The Shell stations are easier to find on my journies. Good to know that there isn't that much difference.

I only ever use Tesco fuel in both the vRS and Golf and find them absolutely fine, I would be interested in doing a few runs on V Power to see if there is any difference.  :popcornsoda:

I've been using v power for the last 3 tanks then filled up with momentum. Not really noticing much difference in performance but I'm getting about 1-2 mpg more (at least) for my usual commute to work.

My GTI thrives on Tesco momentum  :happy2: when run on 95 in the past, I've felt a horrible flat spot between 5.5 and 6k revs  :scared:

my vote also goes for Tesco. when i was running my evo 8 (400hp) as a daily i had all sorts of issues for a while which after about 500 quid turned out to be fuel related - after many frequent tank dips/tests after fill ups at both shell and tesco, it turned out v-power wasnt quite what it said it was.......(car was pretty borderline mapped to eek power) thereafter i stuck with tesco 99, no problem whatsoever...

at the end of the day i guess engines /maps could act differently in answer to fuels?, since its all the same stuff initially until they add all the proprietry additives, especially in the higher octane options at the pump

....When I see a brand called Murco I think murky and something too unsavoury to use for finely tuned automotive porn.

I find tesco 99 to be better. always find i get terrible mpg on v-power and the car just doesn't seem to run the same.
plus v-power tends to be 5-8p more expensive than tesco 99.

Wasn't one of out tuners doing a test of the fuels on an ed35 for tv a few weeks back?
Were any results allowed to be published yet?

TBH i absolutly hate Tesco momnentum ! Dont get me wrong in the gti and edition 30 the car run fine on the stuff both performance tuned and standard ! But when in the M3 and RS the both cars hate the stuff the cars feel lumpy and the zorst pinks like fook ! The make up of the fuel must not be right for these cars, like i said though i never noticed this on the gti though, switching to v power though the cars feel and drive perfect even on standard esso 95 ron this never happend !

I will say though i used to put it in golf instead of v power but both the m3 and rs have only had it in once or twice and it made for a noticably bad drive, i dont even use it if i have the voucher anymore its v power or standard premium for me !

It does make a differance to performance though and a lot better for your engine especially on the TFSI cars

Revo Kev told me to stick with V-power when possible stage4 wont like the tesco99. Had no choice one day and went with bp ultimate which resulted in a flat spot (i think). Havnt been back to V-power yet to test as car is away getting painted. Cheers, Stevie.
