Tesco 99 Ron

I could only find ROZ – Research-Oktanzahl - German for Research Octane Number.

....So I'm inclined to think that RON and ROZ ratings are the same and that my fuel flap label is merely stating that the car can use either 98 (in 2005) or 95, and that more advice is written in the Handbook.

Long story short = Use 98 (minimum) whenever possible and only use 95 in emergency and granny drive accordingly.

This of course is advised and written by VW for their standard OEM cars, not ones remapped by mad Englishmen.

my cars filler cap also states 95 ron. Could it be the later cars that the filler cap states 95 ron (BWA engines)? Just a thought

My Ed30 states 98 RON and only gets 99 ron

Mines the same as robins and apart from the first couple of tanks since owning the car it has only run momentum or v power and premium unleaded in emergencies (usually 97RON from esso etc)

....But GTI fuel cap advisory labels usually say 98, not 95. Who cares? - I would run on V-Power anyway.

Anyways, regardless of what the cap says, just stick some decent fuel in and we'll all get along just fine

my 05 reg GTi was 98 on the lid, and my later 07 std GTi was 95.. Might be due to engine code type..

Mine is an 05 and has the 98/95 reccomendation , unfortuately its to new to get the metal ashtray and hidden ariel , but still has blue glass and 10 speakers!

Haha you may joke but I had a friend that actually did, by mistake of course  

....My VW dealer's affiliated bodyshop built a full GTI replica from a TDI for someone and did an extremely convincing job of it. I've got some photos somewhere.
