i use v-power most of the time but tescos 99 near the end of the month when im skint ( tesco pay at pump lets you fill up a full tank even if you only have a few quid in the account )

went for a country lane run on sunday and found myself 60miles from home with the fuel light flashing, only station i could find had 95ron, stuck some in and set my car to 95ron map and i was shocked, car felt flat, boost felt lacking and overall no were near the power it makes on 99 :driver:

Apparently, if tuned for V-Power/99 and you have to fill with 95 RON, it will take a good half tankful or so before you will feel the inferior results.

Not exactly. If, due to the fuel, it can't run such high timing, boost, etc it will correct instantly rather than give pinking or knock or leave the engine running at dangerous levels.

That's what these engines do.

Im thinking it is a problem with the shell station that I use near work it's more expensive than another shell just over a mile away but I normally just use it because it is handy.

I filled up at the other shell and the car feels the same as It did with the tesco fuel!

I won't be using the shell station near work anymore unless I really have to

The one at the airport

I tend to use the one in Bucksburn as its en route to town - no issues there but I do think my car is running better and more economically using the Tesco. Do have to go to Westhill though as the Inverurie Tesco doesn't do momentum.

It's the one in bucksburn that I'm using now, I would use tesco but only really go near them when I go into town.

The Inverurie tesco is annoying as they have signs up for momentum but none at the pumps, would be very handy if they did!
The shell just outside Alford has v power

I use Murco 95, is that any good?  :popcornsoda:

....When I see a brand called Murco I think murky and something too unsavoury to use for finely tuned automotive porn.

Instead of having a shell shop they have a budgens or spar or sell things you wouldn't have in a normal shell garage

Yeah, found that out about Inverurie when I pulled in because they had the signs up - parked next to a pump and it was just 2 pumps of bog standard unleaded!  :fighting:
