Loose window glass
« on: May 30, 2012, 11:04:19 am »
The window glass on my driver's door is loose to the point that whenever you drive with the window down slightly, or put the window down or indeed shut the door with the window up you can hear the glass rattle like crazy. I know this problem was well documented with the mk4 golf and the cause of the problem was the window regulator clamps/ clips that actually hold the glass snap due to poor design. I can't seem to find much info specific to this problem on the mk5 when I google though?

I believe it's more difficult getting to the regulator on the mk5 golf as it is sandwiched inbetween the inner and outer door skins. I daren't leave it any longer in case the clamps fail altogether and the window drops into the door! Plus it's annoying as hell as it sounds like a Renault Clio, not a quality engineered German car

Does anyone else have this problem? Have VW released a repair kit?

Cheers

Matt
