I've had two alarm sirens die in my ownership. On the last one I did notice my radio would go on by itself sometimes.

A VCDS scan will highlight obvious faults, and also tell you what the previous alarm triggers were to help pinpoint it even more.

What kind of radio do you have?
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

Had this problem on my the other night. A quick google revealed it to be a common problem. It seems to be a problem with the radio. There is a fix for the radio but the simplest solution from people seems to be make sure you have a cd in there all the time. Have done this to mine and not come back on yet. It was coming on regularly. Can't promise but working for me so far!
