how much is too much?
« on: June 04, 2012, 04:52:02 pm »
i can't use my car recently so as and when I'm bored I'm just doing a coat of wax for something to do.

the car has been sealed and has around 6+ coats of wax now.

how much is too much or when would i stop benefiting from adding more coats?

You stop benefitting after around 3-4 layers because the solvents in the fresh application strip some of the wax from the previous application. All depends on the product used. Dodo juice did a write up on their colour charged waxes and I think four was the max that showed any benefit (in terms of colour).

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

if you are addicted to waxing cars, you can always come round and do mine, i don't seem to be able to make time to give her a clean up lately  :signLOL:
