Octavia VRS Estate
« on: June 01, 2012, 06:05:22 pm »

Just followed one of these home (In my Tranny Connect, so couldn't play games) and I was amazed at just how lush it looked in it's electric blue paintwork.

When I grow up I might get one of these.

Is it the Mk5 or Mk6 engine in these?

Just for info it's Race Blue..... :P.

The mk2 vRS has the Tfsi engine (mk5), very late models have the Tsi (mk6) as does the FL mk2 ( like Carl and Ian's)  :sad1:.

I think they are rather nice!  :happy2:

Race blue then, but electric blue describes it better  :P I love those sort of blues, a bit like the Mk4 R32.

I have to say, I'm a convert, I used to mock the Edna Everidge front end, but it all comes together to make a cracking looking motor.
If I ever hear 'the pitter patter of tiny feet'.......

I really considered getting the latest octy saloon in race blue if I did get rid of my car after the break in. I they are stunning and for what you get for the money definitely will be a contender if I can't afford a golf R for my next car

I hope my next car willbe an R in a couple of years. Better stay away from the Mrs, don't want to land up in a wagon just yet!

Well I want an R but SWMBO wants a RR evoque. so it's either keep the gti or get a gtd/octy and an evoque unless we can afford both

Depends on the model year. I think prefacelift were EA113 (Mk5) engined, later ones EA888 (Mk6)

I agree with you I really like them. If I was a family man I'd be in a vRS estate :happy2:

These ones look better

This is the FL version with the TSi engine in which is the same as in the MK6 Golf GTi

The Pre-FL had the TFSi engine same as the MK5 GTi. However some of the Limited Edition vRS petrol had the TSi engine in.

I love mine and having just spent 8hrs travelling oop norf (fcuking traffic :fighting:) with a full boot, two week old baby, two dogs and a full roof box (oh and the wife ) I can safely say I made the right decision.

They get even better with a map too

Is the Staging the same for remapping as it is for the Golf then, i.e. same principles re required upgrades? I really like them, didn't realise they looked so good. Just had a look on Autotrader, don't fancy the pre-FL TBH. The one I saw yesterday was a 61 plate FL. Nice.

You don't need a pump for the TSi as its OEM pump is rated to at least 150bar. I don't think you need to change injectors either for KO4. But I'm sure someone will confirm.

At the moment you can only go to Stg 2 before changing the Turbo. You can KO4 them but the Turbo needs machining to add a DV. APR do a kit which is approx £1600 plus fitting. Jim at JKM has this on his car and it pulls 350bhp/387lb/ft with REVO mapping and is definitely the fastest VAG car I've been in after an RS6.

Jim is planning to put a hooooge turbo on it though (GT3071 iirc) so that will be interesting.

You only need map, intake and DP to maximise Stg 2
