New(ish): Red Golf GTI owner
« on: September 12, 2012, 10:43:51 pm »
Hi Guys!

Been on here for a while now so thought it was about time i posted something.

Had my red mk5 gti for around 4 months now and love it.

The 6 month warranty ends soon, after which i'm planning to do some minor mods so will be looking for advice when the time comes.

Thanks for the comments! :)

I am known to be a 'noise freak' when it comes to cars, but i've got a rumbling and slight pedal vibration when taking up the bite (especially on a hill).

Does anybody else have experience with this?

I have had the clutch and flywheel replaced under warranty and it still does it...

Lovely looking car. Red is best (biased). I'm newish too. :happy2:

Mine rumbled/ knocked on the free tank of 95 ron unleaded it came from the dealer with?! Do you use super unleaded?
Will definately smooth things out if, like me you bought it before checking what it runs on!!

Hope this helps- if not good luck and welcome.

If i'm honest i just used some Simoniz car shampoo and wax, seems to stay really nice for a while as well. :)

I am using Tesco Momentum, doesn't feel like a fuelling issue, feels more like a clutch/gearbox thing... :s

I believe that rumble is DMF related. Mine does the same and I still don't think it's right. Did they do the slave cylinder whilst the 'box was out?
