i have the NQSBBK with ferodo ds2500, no issues at present

DS2500 - isn't this primarily for track?

Do you have the shims on at all?

DaveB mentioned to me that the pad compound on the DS2500s have rubber in, so on track days when the pads get hot the rubber melts away and the pads fall apart 

his advice is Ferodos for fast road/light track, but if you're going heavy the Pagid RS4-2s.

yup as Sub says, the DS is fine for fast road use but are no good for hardcore trackday action

At muckipup...I am on 996 fronts over 330x28....so same width as what the caliper is designed for. Think I may try taking them out.

So if you are after some great daily drive and track day pad look no further (not cheap though). As soon as my current Pagid RS 4-4 (second) pads need changing I will go with RS 29.

Jim sounds like you've got a sticky piston.

The seals are square in a rhomboidal recess, sounds like the piston isn't retracting when of the pedal.

Did you use some decent assembly grease on the seals and pistons when you nut them back together

Thanks Dave - that was a thought to be honest as I dont think I greased them on reassembly - I think I thought the fluid would lube them up

I have moved them in and out a few times manually - taking pads out and checking they are free, but it looks like I might take em to bits and lube them up.

could I use this Pagid Ceratec I have here now?

Errrrrrr no, that's for binding pads to calipers and keeping them quiet.....

You need the opposite...you need a lithium based grease, brakes international are selling it on eBay at the mo.

Alternatively take the seals out clean them using a clean cloth and then immerse them in seal conditioner for 30 minutes or new clean brake fluid for 90 minutes. Lithium grease is preferable.

I'd do them all pal, or if you're local pop in to mine and we can do it while you wait
