Noise limits...
« on: May 14, 2012, 12:44:43 pm »

Looking at a few airfield days and before I go booking want to quash my concerns of being booted off for being too noisy...

For instance, Elvington 98 dba Static (could I achieve this on stock map with Decat & 3" BCS TBE) 87 dba Drive By (Im not sure what distance at Elvington the measurment is taken?)

Anyone had issues with booking, turning up and not being allowed to drive due to noise regs?  Is there ever a refund (allbeit in trackday vouchers at least) available so you can go away get a less asbo exhaust & re book?

TIA  :drinking:

Mike

Found this for Elvington

"drive by measured 40 metres from the edge of the track.  It should noted that the following cars or modifications may experience problems passing these limits - DeCat conversions, Cars fitted with "Motorcyle" silencers, Early Honda Civic Type Rs with anything other than when fitted a standard exhaust system."

I know Snetterton was 100db as I was down there a few weeks back and most of the superbikes were hitting 97-99db (measured at 15 feet using the Iphone app)  :happy2:

If you live close pop by on another day and get them to check. If the static is ok, the drive by is bound to be.

Mine never failed with a 3" decat and non-res Milltek.

It passed the static no problem because the car isn't under load and therefore the turbo isn't boosting. Driveby it was lairy, but never questioned.  :happy2:
Sideways yo!
