Been to have the car inspected @Listers Coventry and they've agreed to carry out the warranty repair  :laugh:

Just got to wait for them to book me in now but there's a 6 week wait.

Still anything is worth waiting for if its free  :signLOL:

Had my inspection done 2 days ago by Peter Coopers in Southampton

Over a week and no response from VW yet. I rang the bodyshop a few days ago and it's in progress and can take 7-10 days apparently. Seriously un-impressed by VW customer service so far - from the dealer, to the bodyshop to the head office.

Mine were both replaced along with repaired sills 100% under warranty from lightcliffe liverpool about 4 weeks ago :)

Apologies for being lazy and not going back through the thread, but has anybody had VW look for a fee up front just to do an inspection?

I'm based in Ireland so the dealer network probably operates to a different set of rules over here. Of the dealers I've approached one has just said outright that they wouldn't entertain it, and the other is looking for €100 as an inspection fee with the reassurance that my issue most likely wouldn't be covered under warranty. (This was over the phone without even viewing the car)

Just wondering what other members experiences were..

I had no inspection fee and I've not heard of anyone else having to pay one. My 'inspection' took about two minutes and just involved me showing the guy the affected areas and him taking a picture of it. Maybe it's different in Ireland though.

Popped in today.. had photos taken of O/S/F sill (corrosion on corner) and N/S sill door shut area (two spots of corrosion starting)
Should hear in around 10 days.

Well after reading this thread im heading into my local vw dealer at 9am this morning to chance my luck, I hope the fix it for me as I have BAD corrosion on my offside front wheel arch just at the top which I hope will be covered 100% and some not to bad on the top side of my sills in the door shuts which im hopping for 50% really.

Wish me much haha

I don't know personally but the corrosion warranty is the same, if the car has original paint and corrosion not started from stone chip it should be covered as normal  :happy2:
